Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing is part of everyday life at Chester Hill North Public School. We believe that when children feel safe, connected, and valued, they thrive in their learning.
We do this through:
-
Teachers who make every child feel welcome and included from day one.
-
Daily Life Skills Go check-ins, helping students build resilience, self-awareness, and social connections.
-
Access to school counsellors, psychologists, and specialist staff for individual support.
-
Programs that strengthen wellbeing and relationships, including:
- Real Schools – Restorative Practices (fostering respect, empathy, and accountability)
- Rock and Water (building self-confidence and self-regulation)
- Believe, Belong and Blossom (BBB) for girls and Top Blokes for boys (mentoring in leadership, resilience, and healthy relationships)
- Attendance support to keep every student engaged in learning.
-
A dedicated Wellbeing Room where students can reflect, regulate emotions, and restore relationships.
-
Clear expectations for behaviour built around being kind, confident, helpful, creative, and safe.
-
Strong partnerships with families through parent-teacher interviews, community hub meetings, and regular communication.
-
Health care plans, risk assessments, and individual behaviour plans co-designed with families when extra support is needed.
-
Whole-school participation in initiatives such as the National Week of Action Against Bullying and Violence and the eSafety Commissioner toolkit to ensure students feel safe online and offline.
By combining high expectations with genuine care, we create a culture where every student feels supported, valued, and ready to succeed.
