Learning
At our school, we teach the NSW curriculum and offer many different subjects to support each student’s learning. We know that development of skills in literacy and numeracy are the building blocks for learning and for everyday life. Our teachers use effective teaching strategies to help students achieve their goals.
Why choose us for your child’s learning?

We offer a range of subjects to match what students enjoy and want to learn about. Our skilled teachers support every student to find what they love, do their best and succeed.

Inclusive and personalised learning
Our teachers adjust how they teach to suit your child’s needs, interests and learning pace. We make sure every student feels confident and supported.

Extension opportunities
Some students are ready for more challenges. We offer open-ended tasks, enrichment programs and support. We help all students to reach their full potential.
What students learn
Students learn a wide range of subjects in the NSW curriculum. They build skills, think creatively and prepare for life beyond school.
At our school, students can take part in special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) classes, depending on what’s available. These classes are delivered by approved providers.
When enrolling your child, you’ll be able to choose an option from the approved providers offered at our school. Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.
You’re welcome to change your choice at any time. Just let us know in writing or use the online form (if available at our school).
[There are no special religious education and special education in ethics approved providers available at this school.]

Our learning approach
At Chester Hill North Public School, we believe every child can succeed when learning is explicit, engaging, and inclusive. Our teachers clearly explain what students are learning, why it matters, and how to achieve it step by step. By breaking ideas into smaller parts and celebrating progress, students grow in confidence and independence.
Learning at CHNPS is student-centred, practical, and focused on equity and access. We know every learner is different, so we tailor our teaching to support all learning styles, abilities, and needs. Teachers take part in ongoing professional development, using proven, evidence-based strategies that ensure our students thrive.
Our learning approach includes:
- Real-world learning – through hands-on tasks, rich mathematical investigations, Number Talks, group work, and problem-solving projects that encourage collaboration and critical thinking.
- Technology – with 1:1 laptops for Stages 2 and 3, interactive whiteboard tables, and digital tools that prepare students for the future.
- Flexible teaching and individualised support – with EAL/D and Learning & Support specialists, individualised learning plans, and adjustments to ensure every child is challenged and supported.
- Wellbeing woven into learning – daily Life Skills Go check-ins, restorative practices, and social–emotional programs like Rock and Water, BBB, and Top Blokes that build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships.
- Community connections – through partnerships with Karitane, The Smith Family, Amplify Music, Zing Gymnastics, Fit XP Sports, and local high schools, plus excursions and cultural programs that link classroom learning to the wider world.
- Inclusive learning spaces – such as our Vertical Maths Room, Wellbeing Room, outdoor learning areas, and Inclusive Education Unit, which inspire curiosity and cater to diverse needs.
By combining high-quality teaching, personalised support, and strong community partnerships, we create a learning approach that empowers every child to achieve their full potential.
